Conceptualizing emotion

Workshop Details
The workshop aims to clarify the ways in which emotions are best understood and conceptualized, with particular emphasis on interactions with machines and computing. It is envisaged as a rather specialized and limited event (between 20-30 participants, mostly from HUMAINE) in which most participants will also present and The main focus will be discussion rather than full-fledged theoretical papers.

Call for Papers
Papers and presentations on the following subjects are invited:

1.  What is an emotion?

2.  Formalization of emotions.

3.  How to structure an emotive machine?

4.  Emotions in social interaction (human-human interaction Human – machine interaction)

5. Emotions, machines and brains: How can neuroscience contribute to our understanding of emotions?

There will also be a conclusive session in which we can hopefully summarize thoughts and directions for further work, based on what will have been discussed in the workshop, as well as two or three, more "formal," invited lectures.
