Description:  
The project involves analysis of facial expressions (coding of video recordings) and vocal expressions (acoustic analyses). Synchronization of vocal and facial features will be examined. This project is currently funded by the Swiss National Research Foundation for a period of 2 years.

Requirements:
Candidates must  
- hold an undergraduate degree in psychology,
- have a strong interest for empirical research,
- have good knowledge of statistical data analysis packages (such as SPSS or S-PLUS),
- be at ease with new multimedia technologies

Good knowledge of English and French (written and spoken), as well as a strong interest for – and previous experience with – the analysis of facial and/or vocal emotional expressions are required.

Possibilities:
This position is intended to support a doctoral student (PhD candidate).

Salary:
33'000 CHF (candidat au doctorat FNRS)

Starts:
Sept. 1. 2005

Duration:
2 years (with the possibility of a prolongation)
