Postdoc position at IRST, Trento, Italy

Within the framework of Humaine, we offer a  postdoc  position  for one year, renewable, for  work at IRST in Trento, Italy. A different but relevant level of expertise will also be considered.  

IRST is a major European center in various areas of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology. Trento is located at the foot of the Dolomites, in a beautiful mountain area, 90 km North of Verona and 140 from Venice.

Work is to be performed on WP 8, which IRST is coordinating (please refer to the specifications on the Humaine web site). Language of activity is English.

The specific topic of the activity will be computational humor (in particular verbal humor) and/or automatic persuasion and emotions, themes on which IRST has been active for quite some time. The successful candidate must have a strong background in  computer science and AI and taste and experience in realizing software systems (in particular natural language processing, automated generation systems, intelligent interfaces), and a strong interest in cognitive technologies and in the specific themes mentioned above. He/she must be able to work in a team locally and will also work in strict contact with other first rate European centers active on Humaine.

Salary is competitive and  will be defined in relation to expertise.

The candidate must be available to start working a couple of weeks after having been selected.
