Resarch Interests: Machine learning, computer vision, HCI, and affective computing

I completed my bachelor degree in the Department of Computer Engineering (Istanbul Technical University) in 2013. I continued my master education in the same department where in 2015 I received a master’s degree specialized in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. In my master thesis, I studied the aging effect on face recognition utilizing Harry Potter movies. During my master study, I had worked as a research assistant at the laboratory of Smart Interaction, Mobile Intelligence, and Multimedia Technologies (SiMiT) Research Group (Istanbul Technical University), for the CAMOMILE EU project (Collaborative Annotation of multi-MOdal, multI-Lingual and multi-mEdia documents). I was an intern at CVHCI (Computer Vision for Human-Computer Interaction) laboratory (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) during the summers of 2014 and 2015. Currently (since March 2016), I am pursuing a Ph.D. in RAI group at Maastricht University under the supervision of Prof. Stelios (Stylianos) Asteriadis, on the topic of emotion recognition and video data Analysis. My research interests include computer vision, machine learning, and human emotion recognition.
