Resarch Interests: multimodal learning analytics, facial expression recognition, engagement and attention analysis, computer vision, deep learning

I am a research assistant at the Hector Research Institute of Educational Sciences and Psychology (HIB), University of Tübingen and also a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Enkelejda Kasneci and Prof. Dr. Ulrich Trautwein in the LEAD Graduate School and Research Network.

My current research aims to develop methods to estimate students' attention and engagement in the classroom using computer vision & machine learning methods. To validate my approaches in schools, I collect video and audio data during secondary school and university level instructions and automatically analyze teacher and student behaviors to improve classroom management and instruction quality. The topics that I am interested in include human activity detection and localization, human pose estimation, appearance-based gaze estimation, and facial action unit analysis.
