Dr. Stylianos (Stelios) Asteriadis is an Associate Professor at the Department of Data Science and Knowledge Engineering at Maastricht University. He has published over 50 peer reviewed papers in the fields of Computer Vision, Intelligent Visual Interactions and Artificial Intelligence. He is conducting research in AI in health, ambient assisted living and automated human emotion recognition, with particular focus on in-the-wild applications making use of computer vision and deep learning technologies. Stylianos Asteriadis is a co-organizer of the 2018 IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence and Games (CIG) and the organizer of various international peer-reviewed workshops, while he serves as a PC member and reviewer in many international conferences and highly ranked journals. He is currently teaching the courses of Computer Vision and Human-Computer Interaction & Affective Computing in Maastricht University. Also, he is the PI, for Maastricht University, for the large-scale Horizon 2020 EU projects MaTHiSiS (http://mathisis-project.eu/) and ICT4Life (http://ict4life.eu/).
