Short biography of Egon L. van den Broek

Dr. Van den Broek is consultant and assistant professor in Human Media Interaction (Faculty of EEMCS, University of Twente, NL). Through his broad interest, he has been involved in various national and EU projects on cognitive engineering, affective signal processing, cognitive computer vision, and virtual reality. He has supervised 50+ BSc, MSc, and PhD students and published 100+ articles and book chapters. He also founded the online image retrieval system http://www.m4art.org. Previously, he has been junior lecturer (Radboud University; RU) and both assistant professor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and board member of the post-doctoral professional study of ergonomics at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, NL. Dr. Van den Broek obtained his M.Sc. (2001) in AI and his Ph.D. (2005) in Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) both from the RU, NL.
