Christian Peter

Christian Peter is researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics in Rostock (Germany) and also at Graz University of Technology (Austria). He is interested in Human-Computer Interaction in general and Affective Computing in particular. His current focus is on affective technologies like affect sensing and detection, and the design of affective systems. He also investigates in cognitive aspects when using technology.

Christian Peter's current main focus of research is on

  • physiology of emotions, particularly (peripheral) psychophysiological changes in users while interacting with computer systems
  • speech analysis for affect related changes (signal quality features, prosody, semantics)
  • sensor technologies for minimally obtrusive capture of signs of emotions and cognitive states
  • fusion of affect sensors and multimodal data
  • structuring and representing emotions within affective systems
  • minimally obtrusive sensing of cognitive work load
  • cognitive aspects of interaction with technology
