My main research interests center around the study of adaptive intelligent behavior, which I am exploring with artificial autonomous creatures (physical and simulated robots). I am focusing on motivated behavior and social interactions, with particular emphasis on the role(s) that emotional phenomena play in them.

I lead HUMAINE Workpackage 7, "Emotion in Cognition and Action."
