Key research interests: affective technologies: affect detection and analysis (peripheral psychophysiological changes, speech analysis, non-intrusive sensors for affect detection, networking of sensors and affective output devices); affective systems. |
Christian Peter's current main focus of research is on
- physiology of emotions, particularly (peripheral) psychophysiological changes in users while interacting with computer systems
- speech analysis for affect related changes (signal quality features, prosody, semantics)
- sensor technologies for minimally obtrusive capture of signs of emotions
- networking of affect sensors and affective output devices
- structuring and representing emotions within affective systems
He is organizer of the workshop series on Emotion in HCI, held at the annual conferences of the British HCI Group. See: http://www.emotion-in-hci.net
Christian is member of the Incubator group on Emotions at the World Wide Web consortium (W3C). Go here
