Key research interests: Emotion recognition based on acoustic cues. Acquisition of SAFE Corpus (7 hours, 400 sequences extracted from fiction movies) Development of an annotation scheme for the emotional content description in dynamic situations. Acoustic modelling of fear-type emotions (voiced and unvoiced content) |
The aimed application is civil safety and surveillance in the public places in particular. In this context targeted situations are "abnormal situations", that is situations which implies a threat for human life. Our goal is to detect abnormal situations by building acoustic models of extreme emotions occurring in threat situations. So collected acoustic informations about emotions in speech could then be merged with informations from other modalities by an information fusion system for situation analysis.
This study was carried out in the context of PhD (defended in march 2007) with the collaboration of 3 french laboratories: Thales Research and Technologies (C. Sedogbo), Telecom-Paris (Gaël Richard) and LIMSI-CNRS (I. Vasilescu, L.Devillers).
We have built for this study the SAFE Corpus which consists in 7 hours of audiovisual recordings extracted from fiction movies and which will be soon available. We have developped a complex annotation scheme which allows a description of the evolution of the emotional manifestations and of their context of emergence. From now on, the corpus has been annotated by 3 labelers.
I keep on working on this study as a researcher in Thales Research and Technologies
