Key research interests:

I'm doing research on Cross-cultural interpretation of emotion, especially in multimodal communication. Apart from experimental studies I also study emotion in natural spoken dialogue. Surprisingly surprise is the most common emotion in spoken Swedish. Anger and fear are very rare. Emotions in dialoge are generally low key and of a wide variety. A crucial question is how diffent emotions are expressed with different means such as prosody, body, words and syntax.
