In my research I'm studying extensively opinion mining and lexical affect sensing.

Affect sensing using pure lexical means is a problem that has been studied by the research community since a very long time. The main question of this research can be stated as follows: can computers perceive emotions conveyed by a pure text? Can a computer analyze a text, for instance, "I am very happy." and calculate high intensity of the positive emotion. Humans can resolve the question above very reliably, but are computers capable of the same?

There are some promising approaches to lexical affect sensing using either statistical or semantic means. In my research I investigate this problem taking into special consideration properties of emotional texts and emotional dialogues.
